About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2018.
Formerly known as The Golf Club of Seguin, the course dates back to the 1960s and features wide fairways lined with ash, oak, pecan, cottonwood, and mesquite trees, as well as large greens. Four lakes and a creek spot the rolling terrain, which is primarily noted for its long par 3s. The toughest par 3, No. 11, goes 250 yards with water guarding the left side of the green. And while No. 15 is fairly long at 178 yards, it has been taken for numerous holes-in-one over the years.
On the front, holes 5 and 6 require attention. The first is highlighted by a large lake, and No. 6 bends 450 yards uphill. On the back, the most difficult is No. 18, which plays almost 600 yards and features water on two occasions.
Getting there : In town turn right onto Hwy. 725, then continue on for another 4 miles and look for signs leading to the clubhouse.

needs a course manager
this course show a lot of potential. lacks investment from owner and needs a better course manager to direct tee to green Lawn management. greens were surprisingly in good shape. Price was great for a Sunday $21 bucks with Half a cart.

Tee boxes were worn in most spots...difficult to place tee in grass. Greens were bumpy for the most part. Sometimes difficult to distinguish fairway from 'rough'. Don't know that I would make the drive from a great distance to play the course. Staff (1 female) was very friendly and courteous; facilities were very poor.
Course plays pretty long.
This is not a pristine country club, but a good value as far as green fees go. Course plays long from the blue tees its all of it's 7000 yards up and down hills with a little water and creeks here and there. very friendly staff and people on the course, a nice relaxing round. Also course was in good shape for early spring, I will go back.
Extremely affordable
I booked a 12'oclock tee time. Started early, the pace of play was extremely quick. The people were polite and the fairways were in good shape. They need to do some work on the greens, (they were hurting) but it didn't affect play any. To my surprise a few were extremely fast. I paid 15 dollars to ride 18 holes. The pace was so quick and the price so reasonable we played another round. I frequent this course, plenty of elevation and challanging enough to keep you second guessing your club selection. Definitely worth the trip.
Truly Upsetting
This course is not in good shape at all. The greens are horrible. If you can actually putt on these things I would be amazed. The tee boxes are granite and the fairways are soooo dry that I was dehydrating while riding the cart to my ball. I found one of my golf balls in a crevice about 3 inches wide and 4 foot long in the middle of the fairway. If you must play here it is great for the beginner golfer since the fairways are wide open and mishits are not going to cost you dearly (the lone reason why I rated the course two stars overall).
Most of the staff there was worried more about what time they got off and what was being sent on their phones. It seemed that I was burdening them by trying to purchase a drink since ALL of their water coolers on the course were completely empty (they didn't even have paper cups either). If you decide to play there then you better bring a small cooler with you.
Potential
This course would be very nice with some grass in fairways and tee boxes. Maybe will be much better in about 6 weeks or May 1.
Good value for the cost.
Wide open but challenging because of its length. My wife and I had a good time.
Chapparal
was very interesting links style course
Had some water and trees to challenge -is aong course which suits me as a long ball hitter but still a challenge
Definitely will go back here while we are still in Texas
Club house is a temporary trailer
no real extra services. Soft drinks, beer and chips are available, doesn't matter - the golf was fun
Needs maintenance.
An old country club with little up keep. What a shame. The course has real potential but unfortunately it's been neglected.
A good course for the beginner who doesn't want to be hurried.
Golf with Mom
Fairways need a lot of work. Ladies tee boxes need a lot of attention, almost seem to be an after thought.
It's a fun course
I went on a day with high winds and low temps in December. Overall, I liked it. They had some narrow fairways off the tee and some water hazards in good locations. Can't judge the greens, the wind had leaves everywhere. I'd like to play there again on a better day.
Avoid it!
Main building literally falling down. Clubhouse (single-wide) staffed by person who checked our res and said "You're good."
Started prying from there and gave up trying before we even found out where the first tee was located. No signs anywhere as to clubhouse, parking, driving range, first tee, etc, etc, etc.
We were running late for us due to the main road to the place was shut down long enough ago to have a tree grown in the middle.
Had taken the time to wash my truck on the way to play. While on the course, they decided to hose something off and included my ENTIRE truck. Nothing was around us but the putting green and we were twenty feet from it!
The attendant had a shrug for a comment when I pointed it out.
The website says "greens are rolling good!!" I normally have 30 or less putts a round. We started making three-footers gimmees and I still had 38 putts!
Definitely won't EVER see me again.
the course was well maintained
yes I would recommend this course for those players like me that are out there to get exercise and have fun
this course needs maintenance
Nice day out golfing however the course just had a severe rain and probably therefore in not a good condition.
Course in very poor condition but could be good nice layout
It took a while to find the course as the directions took you to the old entrance. fairways were long and full of weeds clubhouse is a derelict building.
It is not a bad layout but just very tired in condition.
We paid $ 25.00 for the round through Golf Now the actual green fee at the course is $ 20.00.
This course is good value
It was a very nice day for golf. Course had needed some rain and since recent rainfalls was in very decent shape. I would recommend this course to anyone from beginner to veteran player. I play this course often and always enjoy myself. The fairways are wide enough that you don't really encroach on other golfers.
Nice cheap place to play.
Course far from great but is a good course for a beginner or for few buddies just hacking it up. Greens were full no bare spots. Fairways a little bare but for the price it was exactly what you would expect to have. Loved the wide open fairways. Would play again with such a good price
Good course
Only thing that needs attention is the fairways but they're working on it!
Poor condition
The course was in poor condition. Staff was almost none existent. On a Saturday afternoon at 3 pm. Water sprinklers were turned in the last 4 holes , really?
Greens True but Hard, Fairways Okay, Staff Great
Highly recommend if you don't require pristine-looking fairways. Greens are fast and true, fair rolls, but very, very hard. Tough to leave a ball mark on the greens! The fairways are very, very hard but playable. I always play winter rules here, modified to "if in fairway on a no-grass spot, put ball in grass." But...greens roll true and the course is fun to play with average to below average traffic on a Saturday. Customer service is excellent. I meet some of the nicest folks out there. I will return every time I see a good deal on GolfNow.
