Burntisland Golf House Club
About
Burntisland Golf House Club in Fife, Scotland, is an 18-hole golf course designed by architect Willie Park Jun. It's best described as having a parkland nature, although some holes have a links-type turf to hit off. The course is just under 6,000 yards and has a diversity of terrain.
The fun starts with three par 3s in the first six holes, but birdie opportunities abound. There's only one par 4 over 400 yards, for instance, so good length off the tee and control of mid-irons can lead to that elusive below-par score. The two par 5s are also tamable: No. 2 has a tricky two-tier green that's narrow from front to back, but 12 is much less challenging for the low-handicap golfer.
Throughout the golf course, however, control is key. Out of bounds lies to the left of the first four holes and the 18th, and to the right of nine and 10. You face a pond to the right on five, and you have to maneuver past a quarry on 12. Beyond that, the course throws up its share of trees, gorse and rough all over.
When you finish the course, check out the clubhouse, which offers a bar/lounge/dining area. The bar's open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the summer.

Stunning Views
Stunning views, stunning course. Some tricky blind holes with an amazing backdrop. Never got the chance to see the greens in all their glory as they had been sanded for winter prep. I will be back
A Hidden Gem
What a pleasure. If you are looking for a great mix of golf and a fair test of your golf game I can only recommend this beautiful course. From the narrow halls of trees to the vast open holes that look over the Firth of Forth. Absolutely the best value for money you will get this side of the Missisipi River, happy playing.
A Hidden Gem
Great course, well designed with some really stunning holes. Well manicured fairways and immaculate green's. 1st time playing here, but I will certainly be returning on many occasions.
Great course
What a course - fantastic views and a challenge for everyone with every hole offering a different challenge.
Welcomed brilliantly into the pro shop, and the value for money was great.
Course is a little confusing at times, and a couple of sign posts would’ve helped - but that is the only negative of a fantastic day of golf.
We played as a 4 x ball, and will definitely be back again.
Great course
Fantastic old fashioned golf course, hilly but not a slog, has some frightening slopes on greens and views of forth are awesome.
Friendly staff, not a mask wearing zombie fascist collaborator in site.
Will be back.
Well kept and friendly
Had a great round here. The staff were friendly and happy to see some visiting faces. Everyone we met on the course was very accommodating and friendly consider 2/5 of us were novices. Would throughly recommend.
Course in excellent condition particularly the greens given the amount of rain which has fallen recently
Testing times
ive payed this course numerous times in the past and we keep going back for more, its well laid out and thres a certain amount of difficulty thrown into the mix to make the round interesting. facilities are all well marked up with signs to follow the covid rules, I would recommend this course to anyone, great value and a great course.
Wow! Just wow! Pick up your clubs and play it! Now!!!
Fantastic course! Very friendly - several gallons of warm Scottish welcome without a dram of snobbery. Highly playable - took my 16 year-old, who is new to the game, and he had a great round. At times quirky and challenging - kept myself and my 6 handicapper friend more than interested and entertained. Throughout, eye-boggollingly beautiful - stunning vistas across the water. My much better travelled golfing companion thinks he may have cause to reconsider his World’s Top 10 course list. Highly recommended and then some.
Great round.
Very good course with fantastic drainage. Greens were delightful. A few holes needed guidance for tees etc. Would highly recommend.
Good Day - even in the rain
Visited Burntisland on a somewhat wet day but still playable. Course was in a very good condition. Will definitely visit again - hopefully on a drier day. Covid restriction still in force so Clubhouse not open. Golf shop well stocked.
Always good shame about sandy greens
Always a delight to go back to Burntisland, nice course with interesting holes and lovely views. Pro shop very friendly and welcoming. Just a shame that there was no notification when I booked that a third of the greens would be covered in sand! And there were no toilets open. But we enjoyed the golf nonetheless and will be back again. Al
Burntisland hill walk
A lovely well maintained course with some stunning views. Downside being the climb! If I’d known there was so much climbing I’d have taken the buggy!
