Shaky Fairways
Greens and tees were okay. But some of the fairways were missing a lot of grass. But the low price made it worth it.
Nice weekend round
Friendly staff, played as a single in the Mid-afternoon on Saturday. Quick pace of play. Some areas of the course were dried out, but course was in good condition overall.
Course has great potential
Pace of play was much slower than normal. Course condition confirms the course will most likely close the end of this season. Not much money has been put back into course this year. Greens were rough and over all course need TLC. May play one more time before it closes.
good value for the money
We played at 1 in the afternoon and the course with 36 holes was not crowded at all. This is one of our favorite courses. It's not just the course, the golf, the friendly staff. It is also, at least to me, one of the prettiest courses that we play. I love just looking at the land, the ponds, and the wild life, which is not as
abundant as it use to be. Seeing wild turkey and deer was also an added attraction, but it did not slow us down, but made us appreciate our surroundings..
We also admired the wolf carvings. Someone is very talented. The land, the red barn, the water
would be a wonderful setting for an artist / painter to capture.
We are going to miss all of the above.

Fantastic track
Great course awesome staff
Nicely portioned
Although I have not played all 4 courses yet, the 2 outside courses are rumored to be the more challenging courses and offer a variety tee boxes for all levels. No houses to worry about, but be careful about pounding the ball with your driver, as there are plenty of trees, drop offs and ponds! This course is worth your trip to Middletown and it likely one of the areas beat secrets!
Great Time
My son and I played here for a change in pace for Fathers Day weekend. I had not played here in 25+ years. Gotta say it was a lot of fun. The course was in great shape. A lot of flowering clover made finding the ball a bit challenging off the fairway. We both decided we should play more golf here. Great value.
Good Condition!
We enjoyed our round at Weatherwax. It is what it is they seem to have elected to spent what little they have on the course which is a great choice! Course was in good condition! The greens do not drain well as they were still wet from rain the night before, and an inch or two of water in the cups. But they putted true and fast enough.
Driving range had not been cut so it was like hitting out of the rough. The cart paths were rough in spots. There were some broken signs and sometimes hard to find distance markings. We twice wished there had been a course or hole map (better than the aerial photo on scorecard) or at least suggestion as we were fooled on where to hit two blind tee shots.
Still a great value and a great place to play! Cheapest beer we have found in this area nicely iced at $10 for a 6-pack!
Long drive from Cincinnati
Nice for the price. A few blind tee shots, plenty of tree trouble. Water in play on a couple of holes. Could be a jewel if someone were willing to spend the money to update it.
Course was fun to play!
We golfed on a Tuesday so the course was not very crowded. We got right on when we arrived and had a fun time. The course had some tough holes and we enjoyed the day immensely.
Good course
Great course and well maintained. Love to play again.
Course in good shape.
Enjoyable day. Started out slow but pace picked up. Conditions were good for this time of year.
Slowwww
1 hours through 2 holes ... over 5 hours for 18 ..... they did not manage the college kids practicing .... apparently etiquette is not taught ... it could have been a great course
Unbelievable how it's changed
We've played w.wax for the past 15 years. Was always proud to tell folks how great the overall condition was esp.fairways and greens. .however last 3 -4 times there, woodside esp., the fairways were bare in many places and the greens were really beat up.
I heard they were closing the course so maybe they've given up on investing more money. Just unbelievable how it's changed. Once was the best 36 holes around.
Decent value
I grew up close to this course and now only get down to play it once every year or two. Played it last year and thought it was in phenomenal conditions who would have said it was one of the better values in the Miami Valley. Played it yesterday it was in decent condition still solid value but not as good as it was last year. Greens were okay tee boxes fairways the same. The one thing I always liked about this course is the four different nine-hole courses so you always get a different look when you play a team
Challenging course
Course is very challenging and longer than the standard courses nearby.
4 9hole courses make it enjoyable, when playing multiple days.
Awesome Course
I haven't played Weatherwax in awhile. It's great to meet a friend there on Monday. He lives in Dayton and I live in Cincinnati, so it was a great place to meet half way.
It is well worth the drive. The course is in great condition except for the greens. Maybe it's the time of year or nobody repairs their ball marks, but the greens are in very poor condition. I laughed on a 4 foot putt once where I hit 3 ball marks and missed by a foot on a putt where normally I sink it or at least with inches. I'm not a greenskeeper, but wow, the greens are bad.
On to the good... the course is so well laid out with a few holes that are WOW...great view. We played behind a fivesome all day. They were all really good, so it was no problem. The pace of play was great. We had a solid 10 minutes to play each hole. It has a great mix of Pars. You get frustrated on a par 5 and the next hole is a nice easy par 3. Thank you.
The clubhouse is really nice. It's a really old course and they keep it very nice. The staff was more than pleasant and the food was great.
We will meet up again. I'm just assuming that the greens will get fixed or maybe they had a ton of rounds this weekend and nobody fixed their ball marks. If not for the greens, I would have given it 5 stars.
Oh, a small note. The signage is awesome. The markers are all accurate and the directional signs are well placed.
Good layout
Like I said, nice layout, and challenging at times. However, the course conditions are terrible. Awful green conditions, and some of the worst teeing areas I've seen. What can you do? Sounds like the property will only be a golf course for another year or so anyway, so......
