Falcon Golf Club
About
Located near the Estrella and White Tank Mountains, the Falcon Golf Club is an affordable, user-friendly course with an interesting layout. The front nine has a target-style layout with a desert landscape while the back nine has a more traditional design. The greens are medium-sized with a subtle break and the fairways are wide open. Water hazards come into play on two holes and there are numerous bunkers as well, especially on the back nine. The signature hole of the golf course is the par-3, fifth hole. This notable hole has water to the right of the green and bunkers on the front right and left. With its location just south of Luke Air Force Base, fighter jets are regularly seen flying over Falcon Golf Club.

Great course
The course is set up very fairly for an average player. The fairways are in great condition overall and well groomed. Don’t stray off of the fairways too far or you will be penalized. The greens are in great condition. Well manicured and the ball rolled well on them. I have played this course many times before. I like that the mines have been switched and think the course is in a better condition now than previously. Overall a thumbs up for the ground staff.
Fun course and comes with an air show.
Course was in good shape. The greens were the best I've ever seen them. Pace of play was slow for a Friday. Air Force jets were flying. Fun to watch as the course is next to Luke AFB.
Better than last year.
We golf Falcon each year when we visit Phoenix. The course conditions are much improved from last year. Things are a little rough around the edges and in the desert portions, but the fairways and greens were very playable
Close by.
The course is handy to where we are staying. Newly over seeded which made it soft and caused the course to play longer than the yardage indicated. Greens were in good shape though.
keeps getting better
we play here about every 3 months.... I guess there is new management or ownership and the course is being restored.... greens were slow but true due to the overseed.... well worth playing here again.... plenty of golfers today so the word is out to play falcon again....
Golfing after reseeding
It's never a great course after the re-seeding is being done so one has to expect that. It was just great to be out on a beautiful day! We had to stay off the fairways with the cart to let the grass take hold. The tee boxes were a little long and the greens were very slow, which we had trouble with the pace - always an excuse right!! Anyway for the good price we got on Golf Now we have no complaints. We will be back again as we enjoy this course, especially when the side show is flying!!
Pleasantly surprised
I was very happy with the course especially since it was just being opened after reseeding. Things were very green.greens were slow but that should improve soon. A little slow but finished in a little over 2 hours. I will be back.
Deceitful
I know all courses I want to play need to re-seed. BUT I EXPECT TO BE TOLD THEY ARE SCALPED WHEN I CHOOSE WHERE TO PLAY! THe course was in awful shape because of re-seeding but they gave absolutely no indication, which is why I chose to play there. I won’t be back because of their practice of hiding it.

Typical Conditions
Course was dry and hard going into over seed, sure wish they would advertise when they are doing that. It would avoid reviews like this.
- Check-In seriously took 7-8 mins, they are either slow or their system is terrible. No line.
- Pace of play is always terrible as they have no marshal and can’t seem to get groups off the tee box on time.
- Tee time was 705a didn’t go over till 720a, I assume it was because they have tee times at 545a that couldn’t go out because it was dark until 630a.
- Water coolers with no water in them.
- Bunkers do not have enough sand in them.
- Course is just seriously so rough around the edges. Would not take much to get it up to par.
- No worth more than $15 with balls. We paid $35 (I think it was $5 for balls.
OK course if you are learning to play
On 1-2 holes it was difficuly to identify which green I should be playing to. Actually played to the wrong green on the 3rd hole! Course rating and the yardage from the tee boxes seemed to be off. Played front nine twice as I ran into bad traffic on the 10th. It's an OK course if you are learning to play but you can find better course conditions for similar price.
New and improved
If you have not played Falcon recently then you have not played it. In the last 5 months the course has steadily and dramatically improved. New owner took over in January and he actually cares about the course. So refreshing. It still has a way to go, but the change has been 1000% better.
Coarse is making good improvements
Starter told me new owners . U can definitely see the improvements they r putting in . If you haven’t played it in a while u may b surprised.
Pleasantly surprised
Better than anticipated. Good condition, more than decent layout. Wednesday noon tee time, very uncrowded. Definitely worth the money. Luke AFB can be very loud.
Crap
If you are coming of the 303 signage for the entrance is no where to be found till ur past the pot hole filled driveway. Customer service in the pro shop is non existent. Do urself a favor and teach the gentleman at the front desk how to operate a computerized cash register. No scorecard to be found anywhere. So I went back into the trailer (pro shop) and asked for one. I was handed a xeroxed paper copy of one. No course layout, no local rules. I enjoyed the layout of the course but most of it is in disrepair. Put some sand in the fairway bunkers! Pace of play was good considering my group was the youngest on the course. I'm 61 by the way.
Overall not a good experience. Drop the price another 10 bucks and get a beverage cart. The warm water in the bright yellow igloo coolers down make it.
good day
Arrived a little early and was given the option to go right off by myself which I did. Moved rapidly along and went thru a 2-some on the 5th hole. Next people I saw were on 13 and followed them in. The course was in transition between rye and Bermuda put looked and played good. The greens were firm but putted true and of particular benefit to me, at 100 degrees, were the water coolers on many holes. Thank you!
Haven't played here in years but will again return soon.
They turned the water on!
Thanks for listening, hired some staff , pace picking up somewhat, and things are much greener! Just need to get rid of gopher holes on greens.
I have played this course four times in the last six months and found it to be in excellent condition and challenging. I joined the men's club but have not seen any announcements regarding events. The manager or owner's need to get on the ball regarding event's, and price's. I came here from Villa De Paz which has recently closed and found this course to be in much better condition. If I owned this course I would have planned events much sooner because I believe this course and location to be a great money maker (I am a business Man).
