Course Description

With the recent completion of the newest 18-hole golf course, Blue Heron, Ford's Colony proudly boasts three championship 18-hole courses. The Blue Heron, a par 72-course offers 6,873 yards of world-class golf. The course was designed by well-known golf architect Dan Maples, a name synonymous with some of the most spectacular golf courses in the country. The overall appearance of the course is thick woods on a rolling-to-hilly terrain. The front of this course is flat and watery and the back nine is a bit hillier. There is a variety of sand bunkers, ponds, etched into hardwood flowering trees.

Signature Hole

Hole #17 is a long 200+ yard par three with entire carry over large lake to a well bunkered undulating green with over ½ of the green bordered by water. Nestled among the Colonial style Links Town-homes, this hole is intimidating from the tee because of large stretch of water that lies before you. Your tee shot is essentially all carry and must be accurate enough to avoid the bunkers that protect the front and left sides of the green.
