About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2018.
Formerly known as The Golf Club of Seguin, the course dates back to the 1960s and features wide fairways lined with ash, oak, pecan, cottonwood, and mesquite trees, as well as large greens. Four lakes and a creek spot the rolling terrain, which is primarily noted for its long par 3s. The toughest par 3, No. 11, goes 250 yards with water guarding the left side of the green. And while No. 15 is fairly long at 178 yards, it has been taken for numerous holes-in-one over the years.
On the front, holes 5 and 6 require attention. The first is highlighted by a large lake, and No. 6 bends 450 yards uphill. On the back, the most difficult is No. 18, which plays almost 600 yards and features water on two occasions.
Getting there : In town turn right onto Hwy. 725, then continue on for another 4 miles and look for signs leading to the clubhouse.

No Longer a Playable Course
I have been a fan of Chap for a decade or more. But they have severe financial problems. This is the worst conditioned course I've played since I was a kid.
- Lose balls in fairways = legit
- Weeds and clover all over fairways
- Big weeds all over greens
- Rough = Lost ball cause they don't cut the rough
I sincerely hope they turn it around, but that was not golf I played
worst course on planet earth
This place is ridiculous. Lost 4 balls in the fairway due to weeds long grass and holes. 5th hole shut down because a tractor burnt up on the green. It's still there. I wouldn't have ever picked this course if it wasn't on golf now. Please do a better job on the courses you have on your site.
Donate it or close it.
I'm very puzzled as to why this place is even still open. They should donate it to an agronomy college to see if any grass can be grown. There must be some good to the soil because weeds are in abundance. What a shame because it was great in the 70's and 80's. It has been totally neglected. If you can find a place between the weeds on the tee boxes, bring a hammer to get the tee in the ground. I'm not normally a cruel reviewer, but this place is beyond repair. So sad to see it gone. Greens are essentially gone. As golfers, our time is too valuable. Don't waste it here. Like a horse with a broken leg, put it out of it's misery.
Horrible golf course
This was the worst Golfcourse I have ever played on. It was like playing golf on a cow pasture. I took a family friend and relative and I was embarrassed at the condition of the golf course. They should pay u to play golf there. Never going back even for 20 dollars.
Weeds, weeds, weeds
Sorry to see this course in such bad shape. It's been 15yrs or so since I played this course, can't believe how bad its fallen. First it took 10 min. To find the entrance which is the "private rd". Fairways were full of weeds, which at times interfered with my backswing. The fairways that didn't have weeds were bare. Greens were also bad. Wasn't sure if this place was open with no cars in the parking lot . There should of been some alert from golfnow, that would've saved me a drive and 19 bucks. Sure would like a credit GolfNow
mow & weed-eat
a good mowing and lots of weed-eating would do wonders for this course. use to be such a nice place to play. sad to see it in such disrepair!
THE COURSE IS IN BAD SHAPE
WE DID NOT PLAY, BECAUSE THE COURSE IS IN VERY BAD CONDITIONS. THAT USED TO BE A GREAT COURSE BUT NOW IT IS A DISASTER.
Sam jefferson
More weeds than grass around all greens and fairways. Greens had not been mowed all week. Easy to loose balls in the fairway because grass and weeds 4 to 10 inches long. All sand bunkers were over grown with weeds. Not worth the reduced price. I would not play again in its present condition for free. The lost of balls in the fairway alone can be more than the green fees. I live on the sixteenth fairway of this golf course.
Worth to get a shot
The weather was nice and the course was well kept and desert. I really enjoyed my game.
This course needs a lawnmower
It's bad when you hit a nice drive in the fairway and you can't find your ball......
Terrible
We should have just paid extra and played at a nice course. We lost balls in the fairway ?? It wasn't mowed at all. My husband goes at least once a week there. But not anymore. We took our daughter and son in law and it was very embarrassing I will not book a tee time there again. I can't beleive it is on golfnow. You need to think about that
Poorly maintained. Wouldn't go back if it was free. Starcke is 2 miles away. Go there
Course has went downhill from what I've heard. F++
Don't waste your time
This was the worst course I have ever played. Most of the holes you could not tell the fairway from the rough. Mosquitoes were making all shots rushed.
Art64
Spent most of the time looking for golf balls in fairways. Most were 4 to 6 inches tall. Only two were cut. Worst condition the course has ever been in.
Terrible course!!
This course was awful, the fairways and tee boxes we not mowed. The entire course was basically pasture grass. Also, the other golfers on the course had no regard for other players. My wife and I were midway through the 6th hole when a threesome hit past us as we were looking for my wife's ball.
Worst Course Ever
The course was overgrown and all weeds. The greens were full of weeds and hard as a rock. They didn't hold at all.
Everyone was busy looking for balls all over the course and spent several minutes in the fairways looking for balls in weeds. Awful. the maintenance crew can't keep up with all of the mowing that needs to be done. Worse, the crew was mowing with golf carts pulling the blades! Nothing but old golfers and new players present because the good golfers stay away from courses like this.
nice layout
lost almost dozen balls , 2 in fairway cause clover so thick & high.. never play again. so frustrating
Soggy and in need of maintenance
To be fair we played after a full week of bad weather. The greens were the only positive that I can say. They see fast and decently kept. The fairways wee a bit yall and very wet die to the recent rains. Most I the tee boxes were horrible with weeds put to four inches high. The driving range both tee box and fairway area were horrible. My back yard has been kept better. Not a recommended course. They need to work on their mowing a lot more as this was our second trip and the first trip was not much better.
