Originally the “elite” Sotogrande Country Club, a fancy 1960s par 3 track that was the finest of its kind in Texas, Westdale Hills was given new life in the late 1990s after being run down and abandoned. Part of the Westdale Hills apartment complex, the course plays around a lake, with water coming into play on most holes if you’re really hacking it up. Only three holes force a carry of the water. A few bunkers allow you to work on your short game, and the well-kept Bermuda greens can get pretty quick depending on the time of year.

Getting there : From DFW Airport, take 183 to North Richland Hills and exit Central. Dead end at Pipeline and turn right. Drive about ½ mile to El Camino Real, and turn left into the apartment complex.

They do not maintain the cleanliness of their pond within their grounds, it is full of garbage including a rusty shopping cart in their pond. Also half the course grass is dead.

My son and I play there alot, it's a great little course for practising on you short irons. Right now the city won't let them water the tee boxes, greens only so they look a little rough but it's still alot of fun.

I live near this course and go out in the late evening and can walk all 9 holes in about 45 minutes. I play to an 8 hdcp on normal courses and enjoy the course because you really get to work on you short to mid irons. The holes range from 110-185 yards and really offer you some good looks and tight pins. I would say anyone looking for cheap and fun practice should try this out!

For a 9 hole par 3, this is about as good as it gonna get. I first played this course in the late 90s and have noticed the maintenance has gotten better these last couple of years. The greens have been great this year with the exception of #7, which has been taken out of service for the green to recover. I agree the fairway is a bit high and can be frustrating looking for your ball. The roughs are PGA height roughs. LOL The course has a great layout; it challenging with water comeing into play on 3 hole. The slope from blue is 133. Not bad for a lil par 3.

fyi, the dish has been gone for years on 7. 181 yards up hill into the wind can tough!!

No. 7 isn’t one of those, but is considered the toughest because it plays the longest and features the complex’ satellite dish in the middle of the fairway

Westdale Hills is very good for working on tough par 3's. The greens are not amazing but hey for 11 bucks its worth it. I suggest an all day pass for 20 and play around with club selections its never really crowded.

For what it is........this is a great course. Very fun and reasonable challenging par 3. For $10, a total bargain.

not very well maintained, i have played it several times but the grass on the fairway needs to be cut it is much too high, it just does not make sence to lose a ball when it is hit straight down the fairway but lands a few yards short of the green.the grass between the t box and the green in the fairway needs to be cut a inch shorter. i probaly will not be playing it again.
