Course condition
A lot of patches of dead grass and water in bunkers. Once those problems are adressed the course will be great.
Liked the price, not so much the course.
Too many holes were too similar. All par 4s except one were between like 365-380 or so. Seemed like we were always hitting the same club for the second shot. Also, areas around the greens were very inconsistent -- sometimes thick rough, sometimes bare, sometimes clumpy grass, sometimes swampy areas.
Course conditions are poor
Poor overall maintenance. Greens are decent. Sand traps are awful and the geese require attention.
Excellent Course
I have played this course many times and it is always in superb condition.
Good Course
The course was wide open because it rained all morning. We got out right after the rain stopped and there were only a few groups playing. The greens were nice and the course was well maintained. The course was wet due to the rain, but it was playable. I've been playing here for many years and it is normally in pretty good shape.
Greens needs Lots of Work
I hadn't played this course in years. I'm not sure what happened but it has gone backwards as far as the conditions of the course go. The greens were in horrible condition. The fairways and rough were hard to distinguish where one ended and the other started on some holes. I wasn't aware of storms in the area but can say that the sand traps were either hard as a rock, loaded with water or one trap I found was in good condition. You had to be prepared for anything when it came to traps.
It is a very long course of over 6,400 yards from the whites but wide open for the most part. It has a fair amount of water and lots of sand traps. The green are average in size. They can be hard to read but roll pretty fair when junk (torn up) isn't in the way of your line. They are fairly fast greens.
The pro shop worker was super friendly when I mentioned that I hadn't played there in years enticing me to come back again.
I won't plat the course again this year but may try it again in the future to see if it improved.
Beautiful area but course needs work...
I found the layout to be challenging, and the scenery is beautiful, but the course is not well maintained. Some greens had water damage to them, it was bad on the 1st green, and the rough was high making off fairway shots very difficult. Sandtraps were not maintained and looked like old sand...wasn't white and it was very hard. Otherwise the clubhouse was very nice and the staff was friendly. It's the course that needs attention though....
Not bad (for the right cost)
This course is in pretty rough shape, but it can be played for VERY cheap, especially through GolfNow. I wouldn't want to pay more than $25 to play this course, and it can certainly be found for less than that.
This course is not terribly challenging, even for a 20-handicap. There are maybe one or two interesting holes, and it also has back to back Par 5s that are reachable in two.
If you can play for one of the Hot Deal prices through GolfNow, it's worth it. Other than that, try to avoid paying full price playing here.
It's one of my favorites
It's not Augusta but the course has length and big sloped greens. A dozen fairway bunkers, a little more fescue and this could be a real test.
Worth the drive
a generous course allowing you to recover but challenges you on length. Even after heavy rain conditions held. Something for everyone. Scenic and wide open you should score well.
Course Condition
The course was in good shape but the traps and greens could use a little attention. Greens were small and extremely hard making holding the green challenging. Greens rolled very well. Overall it was a pleasant round of golf and well worth the money.
Good but not great
We have played this course before. For the money, it was just fair. The fringe around a lot of the greens was not filled in. A typical Sunday pace of just over 4 hours of play. The only thing that really stands out is that there are almost no trash cans by the tee boxes. By my count, only about 2 per nine holes. Still a course worth playing.
Majestic views
the front nine looks like a dream course. It was super. The nicest course I've played this year.
Fun and freindly!
Freindly staff and a fun round of not to hard and not to easy. A enjoyable round of golf. Would go back again!
Beautiful & well kept
Very nice course, with courteous staff. I felt welcome, and I enjoyed playing 18 holes.
A nice golfing experience
From the senior tees, 5400 yds) the course was very playable. The greens were aerated but as I later discovered, notification was given on the websight - a lesson that will be useful in the future. A tremendous value for the money spent
nice fast greens
our group was surprised by the speed of the greens. finally got them dialed in after a couple of holes. nice course, new fast carts.
Had a good time and pace of play was good.
Not poor but not great either. Greens were nice. Average course for average price. Was in much better shape years ago. Appears latest ownership has cut the amount of money being spent on maintenance.
Good conditions for season.
I have played Monroe before and enjoy the layout. Greens and fairways were very good, but bunkers were wet and puddled due to recent storms. Had they been drained and manicured, conditions would have been perfect. All in all, a great day and a great value of $13 on GolfNow.
