Royal Niagara Golf Club is a "must play" course of international standing. Playing over 7,000 yards from the tips, the 27 hole course features sculpted fairways, undulating greens, cavernous bunkers, and an abundance of water. Nestled between the historic 120-year-old Welland Canal, the beautiful Bruce Trail, and the Niagara Escarpment, Royal Niagara is a stunning course to experience.
With three impressive 9-hole courses; The Escarpment Course, The Iron Bridge Course, and The Old Canal Course, Royal Niagara is built to the highest championship standards. Each nine is balanced in terms of length and challenge, and the result is three very unique nine hole golf courses.
Royal Niagara Golf Club was designed by Architect Ted Baker, renowned for his work on numerous golf courses, including Brampton's Lionhead Golf & Country Club. Crafted in the best traditions of golf course design, Royal Niagara is a masterpiece: "This will be the finest golf course in the Niagara Region," declares Ted Baker.
Location is an important aspect in the creation of a great golf course, however the architect's ability to blend the course with the surrounding greenery is equally significant. "A great golf course should come out of the landscape effortlessly, as if the holes were already there," explains Ted Baker, who further states, "I design good golf courses. Once every ten years I get to design a great golf course. Royal Niagara is what I believe to be truly great."
