Corballis Links Golf Club

Donabate, County Dublin | 18 holes | Links | Par: 65 | 4971 yards

Corballis Golf Links, established in 2004, is the only public links course in Ireland. It's a stunning 18-hole course laid into the dunes just 25 minutes from the center of Dublin. Ron Kirby later redesigned four holes on the course, extending it to a par 66. The golf course features skinny fairways, an opening par 3 that will require anything from a 3 iron to a wedge, depending on the wind, and a few blind shots to greens. Variety is the theme, with an array of doglegs in both directions and at least one hole, No. 14, that runs right along the beach. The greens often are tiered and protected -- nearly fortress-like -- by an array of deep bunkers. A few par 4s are drivable, but there's usually a big risk if you're off-course. Corballis Golf Links has a great practice facility.
