One of the better values in the Atlanta area, Lake Spivey Golf Club is a semi-private club with a challenging and enjoyable golf course, perfect for every level of player. Family owned, the par-73 course has five sets of tees, ranging from 4,855 yards to 6,807 yards. It opened its first nine holes in 1963 (it was 27 holes before being contracted to 18 in the late 2000s) and was designed by D.J. DeVictor and Mike Young over a rolling piece of property that includes, streams, ponds, tall pines and hardwoods, strategic bunkering, a few elevated tees and undulating greens. Although there are lots of uneven lies, the fairways are fairly generous, so the course is very playable. The course has just one par 3 on the front nine and two on the back, the the 13th and 15th holes. Both play over water and could be argued as the course's signature holes. The layout also begins and ends with challenging par 5s. Water comes into play on practically every shot on the 555-yard first, including right in front of the green. The 18th is a 560-yard slight dogleg right with water in front of the green. In addition to the golf course, Lake Spivey Golf Club also offers a driving range and practice putting green. Lessons are available at the onsite golf academy. And inside the clubhouse, golfers will find a golf shop stocked with the latest in apparel and accessories. The clubhouse restaurant is open daily, serving golfers and non golfers alike with sandwiches, snacks, and drinks.
