Located less than 10 minutes from Orlando International Airport, North Shore Golf Club is a favorite public play among locals and visitors alike with its magnificent 18-hole layout. The course, which was designed by Mike Dasher and opened in 2001, has two distinct nines -- a modern nine that has a links feel to it with native wetlands, and a classic nine that's carved through a century old oak grove, giving it more of a Carolina feel, With four sets of tees, from 4,891 yards to 6,891 yards, the par-72 course is also suitable for all players. The longest hole on the course is the 608-yard ninth, a slight dogleg right par 5 that wraps around a large lake. It's also the no. 3 handicap hole. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 448-yard par-4 third hole. It's also a slight dogleg right with a lake that comes into play doing the entire right side. The finishing stretch includes the short par-4 16th, a tough par-3 17th that plays over water, and a long par-4 18th hole. Water, in fact, comes into play on more than half the holes at North Shore Golf Club. The semi-private facility also has excellent practice facilities, which include a full driving range, short-game area and practice putting green. Golf lessons are also available. And the clubhouse offers locker rooms with showers. A fully-stocked golf shop with the latest apparel and accessories is also in the clubhouse. And there's also a restaurant that serves snacks, beverages and sandwiches.?
