Rated among the best public courses in the country by Golf Advisor, Magnolia Landing Golf & Country Club is a Gordon Lewis design that really does play to all levels of players. The layout, which opened in 2007, meanders through natural pine forests and oak groves. There are six sets of tees on this par 72. They range from 4,362 yards to 7,265 yards. The course has a rating of 75.4 from the tips, but players who choose the appropriate tees will have the right level of challenge. The no. 1 handicap hole comes early and it's actually one of the shorter par 4s on the course. The 366-yard dogleg left third has a lake in front of and to the left of the green, which means the approach shot must be pretty exacting. The ninth is a 602-yard par 5, and the finishing stretch on the course includes the par-4 17th, which is 487 yards from the back tees. Practice facilities at Magnolia Landing Golf & Country Club are also excellent. They include a large driving range, putting green and chipping area. Lessons are available from the club's professional staff. The facility's 10,000-square foot clubhouse overlooks the fourth and 18th greens. And inside you'll find a well-stocked golf shop as well as men's and women's locker rooms and a grill that serves lunch and golf course snacks as well as drinks and beer. In addition to open play, memberships are also available at Magnolia Landing and Golf Club.
